Masters of Money LLC Acquires Nerdy Black Girls LLC For $350,000

Today, May 29th, 2018, Masters of Money, LLC., made its second ever company acquisition, by acquiring Nerdy Black Girls, LLC., for $350,000.

Masters of Money LLC's first company acquisition was the Money Channel, on September 11th, 2017, for $1,700,000. 

Nerdy Black Girls, LLC., is a social media company, focused on connecting with the nerdy black girl/nerdy girl genre, and was founded by Malia Johnson(My now wife), in January 2014. 

"I figured their had to be other nerdy black girls out there like me, who would want to connect with other nerdy black girls." Malia Johnson, Founder of Nerdy Black Girls, LLC. 

When Malia got pregnant at the end of 2016, she decided she was going to take some time off, and bring on a partner, who could run the company in her absense. 

The partner she decided to bring on, was none other than Masters of Money's head of animation and social media, Tarica Patel, aka BABB (Bad Ass Bangalore Bitch). 

For anyone who doesn't know who Tarica Patel, aka BABB is, she is one of the best animators in the world, and has done work for many of the world's largest public and private animation and video companies. 

BABB has the ability to bring just about any concept or idea to life. It is truly amazing to see her skills in action. 

In mid 2017, Malia decided to sell her remaining ownership in Nerdy Black Girls, LLC., to BABB. 

Over the last year and a half, BABB grew has grown the company, from approximately 280,000 followers, and 1,500 monthly subscribers, to approximately 1,300,000 followers, and 7,800 monthly subscribers. 

BABB has been running Nerdy Black Girls, and also working for Masters of Money, as the head of animation and social media, at the same time. 

Everyday she had to drive back and forth between the two companies muliple times. Each way is approximately a 30 minute drive. 

BABB walked into my office at the beginning of this month, and said- "I like creating and being creative. I don't like running one company, while working for another one. Some day when you get old, I am going to take over Masters of Money, and turn it into a multi-billion company. Here is what you are going to do. You are going to buy Nerdy Black Girls from me for $350,000, close down their office, and move the company into Masters of Money's building. There will be no negotiationing. I am going back to my office to coordinate the merger right now."

I didn't/don't know anything about Nerdy Black Girls, but I am married to one, the price was right, the merger made sense from a synergistic standpoint, the deal pays for itself with the revenue the company makes in fairly short order, and BABB is going to be happier and more productive. 

BABB, I think you may have made history with this merger/acquisition, because I never actually agreed to buy the company, until the lawyers showed up and worked out the details, which was today, May 29th! 

From almost the minute BABB left my office, on the day she told me Masters of Money was going to buy Nerdy Black Girls, which was May 2nd, she started working on the merger.

I asked BABB what she would have done, if I would have said no, and she said- "You weren't going to say no, even if you didn't want to do it, because of what the company means to you."

Which leads me to my next point. My wife asked me to tell everyone the "real reason" I bought the company, besides the fact that it makes sense to do from a business standpoint, so here it is- 

When Malia broke up with me in September of 2013(it's complicated), she started working on Nerdy Black Girls, LLC., to keep her mind off of me. BABB was 100% correct about the fact that I wouldn't say no, because I have always looked at the company, like it helped Malia to break up with me.

I do like the idea of Masters of Money(My company) and Nerdy Black Girls(Malia's old company), merging(getting married), because it signifies what has happened between the two of us, between then and now.

Dealing With Haters For Beginners by Michael "MJ The Terrible" Johnson

The world is filled with virtually endless varieties of people, and I wholeheartedly believe that the vast majority, are kind and decent, but a small percentage are just plain haters.

A hater is someone who nothing is ever good enough for, and nomatter what you do, it never is.

Haters are unreasonable, one sided, self interested, self absorded, arrogant, don't want to be fair, aren't open minded, don't like you for some reason, judge you without knowing you, criticize your idea, just because it wasn't theirs, is against your proposal, even if it is better, simply because it would change things for them, set up roadblocks to stop you from doing something, just because they feel like it, and on, and on, and on, and on.

Haters, there is no doubt about it. You can be annoying as hell, if we pay attention to you. The key is- "If" we pay attention to you.

When you start making some noise, succeeding, or making some waves, you start to attract people who see what you you doing, and they don't like it. They may not like what you are doing for fair reasons, or they may not like what you are doing, for unfair reasons. 

If they don't like what you are doing for unfair reasons, you have more than likely got yourself a hater. 

When you are new to experiencing the attention of a hater/haters, it can catch you off guard/mess with your head/make you second guess yourself/hurt your feelings/slow down your progress, etc. 

Haters are not open minded, they are not interested in fairness, and most of the time, they are only interested in their 3 favorite people- Me, myself, and I. 

As they say- "Haters are gonna hate." We can't control the fact that haters are going to hate, but we can control how much we let them effect us, and our efforts.

Good Idea Or Bad Idea To Name Your Business After The City You Live In? By Michael "MJ The Terrible" Johnson

Question: I was thinking about naming my business after the city I live in. Good idea or bad idea? Jim Spitzer from Portland, Oregon

Answer: Thank you for the question Jim. Unless your business is a location specific business, I wouldn't put the name of your city in the name of it. 

Regional names, like Bayou City Disposal Company, or Austin Electric, or something like that, limits what businesses can do outside of that area. 

That is why I like to use, and recommend using, universal names that don't limit you to being a regional business, like Microsoft, Oracle, Pepsi, Apple, Exxon, Masters of Money, Proctor and Gamble, Forex Investment Group, Universal Healthcare, etc. 

No one would know where they are located, unless someone looked them up. They could be located in Portland, Austin, Chicago, New York, or just about anywhere else in the world. 

Is it possible to name a business after a city, and still grow the business far beyond the cities limits? Sure it is, but business is more often times than not, a game of points. The more points you have/the more things you do right, the better off you are.

I am so glad I didn't listen to all of the negative people in my life who said following my dreams was a stupid idea. Most of the time when I would try to share my hopes and dreams with someone, I would hear things like- "Michael's just visiting Fantasy Land again". I'm happy to report that "Fantasy Land" is a great place to live, and it is better than I could have ever imaged it to be!

1. Limit mistakes. 

Instead of saying or doing the wrong thing, think first and then execute.

2. Make success a must. 

If you must do something, then you will think of a way to do it, nomatter what. 

3. Refuse to be outworked. 

Go early and stay late when you need to. 

4. Use proven strategies for success. 

Proven strategies come with proven odds for success. 

One of the fastest and most effective ways to succeed in life and in business, is to duplicate, not innovate. 

If their is a proven/high odds for success strategy that you can follow to get started or improve your results, to achieve success quicker and easier then what you are currently doing, do it!

Looking and acting in a professional manner, builds trust, respect credibility, and greatly improves your odds of success. 

13. Read every agreement, contract and document, before you sign it.

14. Don’t be ultra sensitive.                                               
No one likes having to walk around on eggshells, as they say. You may not agree with what someone says, and you may not like what someone says, but as long as the person isn't threatening you, or being inappropriately out of line, let it go. Because you don’t want to be the person everyone thinks is a problem. Nobody likes problems.

15. Don’t criticize others.                                        
Criticizing other people makes you look petty and intolerant. 

16. Drop the labels.                                                           
Get past black, white, republican, democrat, etc. Being able to work with people of varying backgrounds, is major strength. 

17. Don’t run your mouth.                                                    
It doesn’t pay to run your mouth. You can only get hurt by what you say if you put yourself out there as #1 best of all time at whatever. If you say you are the best and don’t prove it you will lose credibility instantly! 

18. Don’t talk behind people's backs.                           
This can only lead to trouble. I don’t care if it even feels right to talk about someone behind there back. 

19. Think before you speak.                                            
You have 2 ears and 1 mouth. Use them accordingly. Don’t blurt words out. Think it. Process it. Then speak it. This three step process will save you from putting your foot in your mouth. 

20. Don’t carry around past negative thoughts and experiences.                                                                         
Take the lessons from your past experiences, and leave the rest where it belongs, in the past. 

21. Mindset matters! 

We are all human beings. We are not robots. We all experience ups and downs from time to time. That said, if you stay focused on positive things, you will find more positive things in your life. 

22. Judge people by their actions. 

Don't judge people by what other people say about them. 

23. Don’t fight a battle you can't win/isn't worth winning.                                                 

Fighting losing battles/battles you can't win, even if you can/actually do win, is a waste of your time, energy and resources. Save your time, energy and resources for more important things. 

Bottom line: If you want something, make the decision to do it. Then go make it happen!
